You’ve got a blank space baby

So today we’re talking about the fifth wall, also known as … your ceiling.

Most people pay no attention to their ceilings. The ceiling gets a few coats of white paint and we call it a day.

Committing  to any color, texture or pattern for the ceiling may seem daunting. But making the right choice can make all the difference. You can make your space feel larger, cozier or more dramatic just by giving your ceilings a little love.

Here are a few of my favorite looks:

Painting the ceiling a few shades lighter or a few shades darker than the color on your walls creates dimension.

Painting your ceilings the same color as your walls will give the effect of a larger room.

This technique is probably my favorite. Adding a pattern to your ceiling or painting your ceiling a bright color draws the eye upward, creating the illusion of a higher ceiling.

Dark ceilings tend to pull the eye downward. This works especially well in a bedroom, creating a cozy and intimate feel while adding drama.

Who knew ceiling tiles could look this good? I’m loving these classic and stylish bronze tiles. Give your space a rich look while adding warmth and texture.

Dressing up your ceiling is the perfect project if you’re looking to transform a space on a budget. Have any more ideas? Share them here.
